Loft Ladders are Not for Fooling Around
Children the world over are familiar with the admonitions against jumping on the bed, running in the house and playing with fire. Perhaps a less common but just as serious admonition is that warning against playing on loft ladders. Loft ladders are singularly useful, providing access to more than just lofts. They are also singularly dangerous, particularly for small children. While it may look like fun to slide down them or chase a friend up one, falling and breaking little bones is actually not fun at all. Loft ladders were never intended to be used as toys and despite what cartoons and Jackie Chan movies suggest, having one land on you or falling off of one can actually be fatal.
